A group in Sierra Vista travels to Israel as a show of support

More than 7,000 miles separate Sierra Vista and Tel Aviv, but that isn’t stopping a southern Arizona community from traveling to Israel to show support for those affected by war.

Four people, including Rabbi Benzion Shemtov, are planning the trip for November.

Shemtov said the trip was to show solidarity for the country.

And the local group joins ten other groups from across the country.

Shemtov said they would raise money to buy food and gift cards for the people of Israel.

“We want to be able to leave an impression on people,” Shemtov said.

The group will spend the first week of November in Israel meeting with various groups.
