Kaiser workers fired over harassment largely fail to file lawsuits

A Kaiser unit denied claims that it unlawfully terminated and defamed a former nuclear medicine technician after a student intern accused him of sexual harassment, but must address his labor relations lawsuit, a federal judge said.

The employee did not sufficiently assert this Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Mid-Atlantic States Inc. The U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland said Tuesday that he released a defamatory statement about the alleged harassment to outsiders or provided details about what public policy his termination allegedly violated.
