VRFA Blotter: Vehicle and motorcycle accidents, bushfires and live lines and more

Here are the 911 calls the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) responded to from September 23rd to September 23rd. 29. 2024:

  • Cry for help: (Pacific) On Monday, September 23, at 4:52 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to the home of an adult family in reference to a man who was disoriented. Caregivers reported that the patient was responding more slowly than normal. Firefighters assessed the patient at the scene and he was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
  • Motor vehicle accident: (Lea Hill) On Tuesday, September 24, at 5:58 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident. Both patients suffered minor injuries; One was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by VRFA ambulance, while the other was transported by private ambulance.
  • Cable broken: (Auburn) On Wednesday, September 25, at 6:33 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a brush fire with trees leaning against power lines. When crews arrived, they found that tree branches had broken the power lines and the power lines on the ground were still live and arcing, resulting in several small roadside fires. Crews waited until Puget Sound Energy arrived, shut off power to the lines and then set about extinguishing the fires.
  • Motor vehicle accident: (Auburn) On Thursday, September 26, at 4:04 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident on southbound SR 167 near 15th St SW. When emergency services arrived, they found two heavily damaged vehicles. Firefighters rescued one person and treated a total of three patients. All patients were transported to Harborview Medical Center for further medical care.
  • Cry for help: (Auburn) On Friday, September 27, at 8:22 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male suffering from general weakness and slurred speech. Firefighters treated the patient at the scene and he was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
  • Cry for help: (Auburn) At 10:50 a.m. Saturday, September 28, VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male with significant swelling in his biceps following fistula placement surgery several days earlier. Firefighters assessed the patient, ensured the area was properly bandaged and prepared him for transport by private ambulance to a local hospital.
  • Cry for help: (Auburn) On Sunday, September 29, at 12:20 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to Pacific Raceways to rescue a male child who had sustained multiple injuries in a motorcycle accident. The boy was competing in a motocross race when he fell off his motorcycle. King County firefighters and paramedics treated him at the scene and he was transported by ambulance to Mary Bridge Hospital for further care.
