D.C. Supreme Court Justice Erik Christian upheld outstanding arrest warrants for two co-defendants who failed to appear in court for arraignment on October 1.

Ralph Price, 18, is facing charges of knowingly causing great bodily harm, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, possession of an unregistered firearm and unlawful possession of for his alleged involvement in a July 27, 2023, shooting that left one person injured Charged with ammunition. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Congress Street, SE.

Wilinda Barron, 45, Price’s co-defendant, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and simple assault for her alleged involvement.

Price and Barron did not appear in court during the hearing. This is not the first time the defendants have been absent; The court issued arrest warrants for both defendants on September 18th.

None of the defendants have a lawyer. Price and Barron were charged early in the case, and since neither has been in court since their indictment, no defense attorney is assigned to their case.

Prosecutors said both defendants had been informed of their charges and asked the judge to uphold the Sept. 18 arrest warrant.

Judge Christian allowed the arrest warrant to stand.

After the arrest warrants have been served, the parties should meet again.
