Reports, photos from 2 volunteer events in Mableton

Avid community volunteer Barry Krebs submitted reports and photos from two volunteer events in Mableton: a trash cleanup at Whispering Pines and Pisgah streets and the Giving Garden’s annual Pumpkin Patch.

Cleanup on Whispering Pines Road

Barry submitted the following trash cleanup report and photos:

The Friends Of Mableton, along with some help from the South Cobb Lions Club, removed 21 bags of trash from Whispering Pine Road and a section of Pisgah Road. There is a trash collector on Whispering Pines Road that throws out the same trash every day. This area could be very beautiful if this person would stop littering.

Giving Gardens annual pumpkin patch

Barry submitted the following report and photos of pumpkin unloading for the annual Pumpkin Patch:

Mableton City Council member Patricia Auch stated that “many hands make the job easy!” She had a great time as part of the volunteer “bucket brigade” that unloaded over 1,000 pumpkins from the truck for Our Giving Garden’s annual pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch is the garden’s largest fundraiser this year. Please check out all the great things Our Giving Garden does for our community at . Pumpkins are available for purchase now through October 31st.
