State submits request to overhaul online child care system

BOSTON – The Department of Early Learning and Care has asked providers to develop a new family portal and case management system for the state’s child care financial assistance programs, consistent with modernization demands under the Future Tech Act signed by BOSTON Governor Healey.

The focus of the redesign is to overhaul the currently outdated IT system and optimize it to make it more mobile-friendly, accessible and multilingual, making it easier for families seeking help to receive help and easier for childcare providers to manage.

“The creation of a new IT system for childcare financial support will support our ongoing efforts to expand access to care financing and make government services more user-friendly and mobile-friendly,” said Education Minister Dr. Patrick Tutwiler.

“Increasing access to early learning and care for all families in the communities where they live, learn and work is key to strengthening our economy and creating a more affordable and competitive Commonwealth,” he said.
