“Could have been a lot worse” – Lucky Pim Ronhaar survives a scary fall into a ravine while training

It won’t be long before cyclocross takes full control of the racing program this winter. One of those hoping for a big impact will be Pim Ronhaar from the Baloise Trek Lions. However, as the Dutchman’s post on Strava shows, his early preparation didn’t quite go according to plan.

“Falling into a ravine,” the 23-year-old begins, recounting his last training session, adorned with images of a torn and tattered Baloise Trek Lions jersey with Ronhaar sporting both a bloody and a cut arm and thigh. Nonetheless, the two-time UCI World Cup race winner would like to emphasize his luck in escaping despite the comparatively minor injuries he sustained. “Luckily I escaped with a few bruises. “It could have been much worse…”

“Many thanks to David Haverdings for the help,” adds Ronhaar. “Two other Danes helped me repair my bike. Thank you!” Check out the pictures for yourself below!
