Colorado State University has removed classes and labs from the Physiology Building in Fort Collins after some people in the building reported health concerns. The university says it has hired a third-party company to investigate what causes some people to experience symptoms while they are in the building.

According to the CSU, the problems began in June when employees reported experiencing health problems while working in three rooms in the Physiology Building in particular. Employees reported symptoms such as eye irritation, stuffy eyes and even sinus problems.

In the following months, the CSU conducted tests to identify the problem. The university said it collected more than three dozen samples from the facility, which yielded varying results.

After hiring a third-party company to conduct the investigation, the CSU said the results so far have found no problems outside the normal range. However, as a precautionary measure, the university has moved laboratories and courses to other facilities. They also restricted access to the building for most students.

Due to reduced activity in the building, only those with key cards will have access to the facility.
