The public is invited to witness the demolition of the Panama City Marina Civic Center

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – The iconic Panama City Marina Civic Center is closing.

The first phase begins on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

The city of Panama City announced this on Tuesday.

The community center was a popular concert venue for more than six decades.

The city has invited the public to witness this first phase of demolition.

There will be a designated public viewing area on a grassy lot on Harrison Avenue on the south side of the center and across from Harrison’s Kitchen & Bar.
