Dehradun: A 44-year-old walker from Lucknow died during the Homkund trek in Chamoli district after his health deteriorated while attempting to climb the mountain Nanda Ghunti Summit at 6,309 m, officials said Tuesday
Rakesh Pathak, a resident of Aliganj in Lucknow, started the expedition from Dehradun on September 19 along with six trekkers and two porters, said Inspector Devendra Rawat, in-charge of Karnaprayag police station. He added that Pathak was an experienced trekker. District officials said that Pathak’s health started deteriorating on September 29 when the group walked the Homkund trekking route via Sutol in Nandangar. TNN
