A man claimed he was fired for googling “stupid things” for 50 hours, adding that he regretted his “inflammatory” behavior.

“Stupid ways to get fired,” some people are saying after a man’s TikTok video went viral. The man claimed he was fired from his job because he googled “stupid things” on his work computer. According to reports, the 26-year-old was called by his boss and instructed to look for unnecessary things during his working hours. He was subsequently fired from his job as a customer service administrator three months after joining.

What did he search for on Google?

Josh Williams searched for things like “turkey teeth” and “Simon Cowell’s botched Botox,” the Mirror reported. His “hot temper” behavior was reportedly impacting his prospects of finding a new job.

“I felt really shitty”

“It got to the point where the workload just wasn’t enough for me anymore. I just wasn’t given any more work, so I googled it on the company computer,” Williams told the outlet.

“It was just stupid stuff. Because of Simon Cowell’s botched botox and stuff. It was pretty embarrassing… I felt really shitty. “Obviously I had spent all my savings going on holiday and getting my teeth done, only to find myself unemployed again,” he added.

Why the TikTok video?

“Obviously my rent wasn’t paid because I lost my job, I had no income. I was behind on my bills, I was behind on my rent. I knew I had no income, so I thought the only other source was “I have TikTok, so I decided to put it there,” he said, adding that he was using his savings for dental treatment in the Turkey before he took the job from which he was later fired.

His financial burden reportedly eased somewhat after he earned around £450 ( 50,000) from the video he posted on TikTok.

“I received a lot of hateful criticism, but like I said, it was the money it brought in that made me want to keep going. I suppose when you post you have to expect some kind of criticism, but obviously it made me sad.” Pretty rubbish, but I stopped reading it after a while to prevent it from getting to me achieve,” Williams continued.

“I deeply regret keeping the video up now. I think two days after it was posted I wanted to delete it but I wanted the money so I kept it there,” he added.

What is he doing now?

Williams told the outlet that he is now employed as a supply chain coordinator in the food industry. However, he is passionate about content creation and wants to pursue a career in this field.
