“Evil Dead” reboot lands at the top of Netflix’s top 10 US film charts

Evil Dead Rise– a reboot film in the evil Dead franchise – has entered Netflix’s US top 10 film list upon its debut on the streaming service.

Produced from the original evil Dead creative trio consisting of Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell, Evil Dead Rise came to cinemas in 2023. The remake was written and directed by Lee Cronin.

Raimi directed, Tapert produced and Campbell starred in the first part evil Dead film in 1981. The trio took on the same duties for the sequels Evil Dead II (1987) and Army of Darkness (1992).

Raimi, Tapert and Campbell then produced the first evil Dead Reboot film in 2013, which was followed by the STARZ series Ash vs Evil Dead from 2015-2018.

The logline for Evil Dead Rise reads: “A twisted tale of two estranged sisters (Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan) whose reunion is interrupted by the rise of flesh-obsessed demons, plunging them into a bitter fight for survival as they confront the most nightmarish version of a family imaginable can imagine.” ”

According to Netflix, Evil Dead Rise debuted at No. 7 on the streamer’s Top 10 U.S. Movies chart for the week of September 23-29. Unlike Netflix’s global charts, viewing statistics are not shown for individual charts by country.

The streamer noticed that too Evil Dead Rise reached the top 10 charts in Canada, Bangladesh, India, Maldives and Pakistan.

“The Garfield Movie”

It landed at number 1 on Netflix’s Top 10 US Movies chart The Garfield movie (2024), the hit animated family comedy starring Chris Pratt as a lasagna-loving cat. The Garfield movie debuted on the streaming service in late September after a successful run at the global box office over the summer.

The Netflix original documentary from 2024 landed at number 2 in the US charts Jailbreak: Love on the run. The Netflix original films 2024 Rebel Ridge And Ugly landed at number 3 and 4 on the charts respectively, while The Super Mario Bros. movie (2023) rounded out the top five.

An American film landed at number 6 on Netflix’s top 10 US films chart gangster (2007) and following Evil Dead Rise was on the map Trolls band together (2023). The Netflix original from 2024 Into the Fire: The Prodigal Daughter came in at number 9 on the charts, while The Boss Baby (2017) rounded out the US top 10.

In the meantime, Rebel Ridge In its fourth week of release, the film topped the Netflix Global Top 10 Movies chart for the week of September 23-29 with 8.9 million views, equivalent to 19.5 million hours watched.
