Iran’s rocket attack on Israel has left only one person dead – a Palestinian hit by shrapnel

Iran fired a massive barrage of rockets into Israel on Tuesday, but the only fatality reported so far was reportedly a Palestinian hit by shrapnel.

The Islamic Republic fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles at densely populated areas of the Jewish state in direct retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and other senior officials of the terror group last week, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Iran with.

The man, identified by Palestinian media as a worker named Sameh al-Asl, was reportedly killed in the West Bank village of Nu’eima, not far from Jericho.

Tuesday’s attack sent millions of Israelis fleeing to bomb shelters and lit up the skies over Tel Aviv. According to preliminary reports, only two Israelis have been injured in the rocket attacks so far.

Eight people were shot dead and seven others were injured in a suspected terrorist attack in Tel Aviv, Israeli police said.

The IDF has vowed to retaliate for the attack, despite the IRGC’s warning that Israel would “face severe attacks” in any retaliation.

“This fire will have consequences,” Israel Defense Forces spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said. “We have plans and will act at the time and place we choose.”

A similar attack in April failed when Israeli, US and Jordanian forces successfully intercepted the “vast majority” of around 300 drones and missiles fired by Iran and proxies in Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon.

The only known victim of this attack was a seven-year-old Arab girl.
