Waterford man killed in motorcycle accident while driving drunk

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI – A 21-year-old man died Saturday when he crashed his motorcycle while driving drunk. According to Fox 2 Detroit, Lucas Horsch of WaterfordTownship was traveling east on Cooley Lake Road near Switzerland Street when he crossed the center line and the motorcycle began to slide.

When the bike skidded, Horsch fell to the ground and although he was wearing a helmet at the time, Horsch was hospitalized in the accident and ultimately died as a result of his injuries. An autopsy showed his blood alcohol level was 0.12, above the legal limit of 0.08.

An investigation is ongoing.
