Get scary, creative and win money in the 1st Scary Mini Movie Contest

CHAMBERSBURG – Get ready for Halloween. Experience spooky fun and win some cash this Halloween season when the Franklin County Visitors Bureau launches its first-ever Spooky Mini Movie Contest. First prize is $250 and two honorable mentions valued at $100 will be awarded.

Contributions must:

• Be original works.
• At least 90 seconds and a maximum of 5 ½ minutes with introduction and credits.
• Add a scream
• Do you have the sentence: But there is one thing….

For participants seeking a competition prompt:

Franklin County is home to trails full of history, art, recreation,

Beauty, fresh food and the warm hospitality of communities like

Chambersburg, Greencastle, Mercersburg, Shippensburg and Waynesboro.

But there is one thing….

The prompt serves only as a starting point or inspiration for storylines, characters, scenes, and actions. Other than “But, there’s one thing,” there doesn’t need to be any other words of prompting in the scary mini-movie.

Videos can be funny and scary or just plain creepy. You can use animations or actors. Think about what is scary, spooky or spooky. Is it clowns, spiders, rats, creaking floors, flashing lights or a sudden burst of cool air? Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, storytelling and production value.

To get started, access Eventbrite here to obtain a digital registration form and upload information. No entry fee is required. Participants should simply register and make a scary mini-film.

Entries must be submitted to the Franklin County Visitors Bureau by Monday, October 21st. Videos will be shared on the October 23rd and 30th episodes of FCVB-TV. The winners will be announced on the October 30th episode of FCVB-TV.
