Newark police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Tuesday morning in the city’s Central Ward.The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from a serious stab wound.

He was transported by emergency services to University Hospital under police supervision and is currently in stable condition.

The motive for the knife attack remains unclear and authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.No further details have been released at this time.
