Idaho State Police responded to a second fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer in Magic Valley around 9 a.m. Monday in Jerome. The accident occurred at the intersection of 500 N and 100 E. The Idaho State Police report states:

A 26-year-old man from Wendell, Idaho, was traveling south on the 500 North in a 2007 Freightliner Semi with a 2018 trailer. A 43-year-old woman from Jerome, Idaho, was traveling eastbound on 100 East in a 2002 Saturn SL1 passenger car. The man in the semi was unable to stop at the stop sign and the Saturn car crashed into the semi’s trailer. The driver of the Saturn died from her injuries at the scene of the accident.

The male driver of the semi-truck was arrested for manslaughter.

The driver of the Freightliner was wearing a seat belt, but the woman behind the wheel of the Saturn was not.
