A 36-year-old man dies in a shooting in Lynchburg

LYNCBURG, Va. — A 36-year-old man has died in an overnight shooting in Lynchburg, according to Lynchburg police.

According to authorities, this happened around 12:37 a.m. in the 100 block of Water Gate Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot. The victim, 36-year-old Anthony Dwight Davis, later died as a result of his injuries despite life-saving efforts, authorities said.

Lynchburg police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
