Britney Spears feared her face was on fire in scary fireplace accident – Music News

Britney Spears has recalled how she singed her hair off her face during a “really dangerous” fireplace malfunction earlier this year.

On Monday, the pop star shared a now-deleted video on Instagram in which she recounted an incident that occurred about six months ago.

“I was in my room turning on the fire and suddenly it exploded in my face,” she recalled, adopting a British accent. “It has done this before, and when it has done this before, I stopped so my security guards would always come in and light it for me because I was afraid it would explode.”

Britney then described how the fire “fizzled out” her eyelashes and eyebrows.

“But this time I just threw the whole thing in and it blew into my face and ripped off all my eyelashes and eyebrows. And do you see those baby hairs? Those baby ponies? “That’s from six months ago,” the 42-year-old continued. “It messed up all my hair. The person I was with didn’t want to wake up and I thought I had to go to the emergency room because my face was burning.”

And although Britney was in severe pain for six or seven hours after the accident, she decided to take medication and go to bed instead of seeing a doctor.

The Toxic hitmaker decided to take three Tylenol (acetaminophen) pills, which, she explained, was “a really, really big deal for me.”

Accordingly, Britney assured fans that she is doing well now.

“Everything is fine now. It happens,” she added.

Britney, whose 13-year conservatorship battle ended in 2021, lives in a mansion in Los Angeles.

It’s not the first time the music icon has had an incident with a fire. Back in April 2020, she revealed that she accidentally burned down her home gym because she left lit candles unattended.
