Virat Kohli survives run-out scare during Ind vs Ban

Virat Kohli survived a run-out scare as the Bangladesh bowler missed an easy chance to send the Indian batsman back to the pavilion in the second Ind v Bang Test at Green Park in Kanpur.

In the first ball of the 19th over, Virat Kohli could have easily been taken out of the game but he had the green in his path. Kohli tapped into a slower attack from Khaled Ahmed and headed for a single. Rishab Pant initially reacted before sending Kohli back.

Virat Kohli had failed to get to the striker’s goal in time. In the meantime, all Khaled had to do was collect the ball and take the balls off. But instead he made a meal of it and missed the stumps as he tried to throw it away.

Kohli initially looked unhappy, but then he and Pant hugged. Kohli batted for two as he survived.

Earlier, Bangladesh were bowled out for 233 in the first innings with Mominul Haque being his team’s lone performer, scoring an unbeaten 107.

India’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, quickly dismantled Bangladesh’s line-up after play resumed following two-day rain disruptions.
