Police are looking for a suspect for aggravated assault on Benjamin Franklin Parkway

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault in the 9th District on September 15, 2024.

At approximately 9:45 a.m., two female victims were walking on the 2000 block of Benjamin Franklin Parkway when the suspect threw one of the women to the ground and punched her multiple times in the face and body. The second woman intervened but was also pushed to the ground. A good Samaritan then intervened, causing the suspect to flee on foot across 20th Street toward Race Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 1.90 meters tall and of slim build. He was wearing sunglasses, a black tank top, black pants and tan shoes and was carrying a green bag and a black backpack.

Authorities have released video footage and a still photo of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central Detective Division.

    BROOKLYN, NY – A 32-year-old man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a shooting Monday evening near 456 Dekalb Avenue, police said.

    Officers responded to a 911 call of several people shot around 5:20 p.m. When they arrived, they found three men with gunshot wounds.

    The 32-year-old victim suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and shoulder, while a 33-year-old man was shot in the torso.

    Both surviving victims were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition. Police have not made any arrests and are continuing to investigate the incident.

    The identity of the deceased is being kept secret until the family is notified.

  • Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Oxon Hill

    OXON HILL, Md. – Prince George’s County homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting Friday night that left a 30-year-old man dead. The victim, identified as Daryl McCall of District Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Officers responded to the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway at approximately 7:40 p.m. on September 27, 2024 following reports of a shooting. McCall was found in a parking lot with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts. A second adult male was also shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    Police are currently working to determine the motive for the shooting and identify any suspects involved. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
