A three-vehicle crash at the busy intersection in Duluth causes a temporary traffic delay

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) – A three-vehicle accident temporarily shut down a busy intersection in Duluth.

According to Duluth police, officers responded to a report of a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of East 13th Street and Rice Lake Road on Monday around 4 p.m.

An initial investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling on East 13th Street was attempting to turn left on Rice Lake Road when it struck another vehicle traveling north on Rice Lake Road. The northbound vehicle attempted to swerve but then crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic, causing a head-on collision with another vehicle traveling south on Rice Lake Road.

The driver who attempted to make a left turn on Rice Lake Road received a failure to yield citation. They suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The other people involved suffered minor injuries.
