The US is increasing its military support for Israel to prevent an attack by Iran

The US deployed more military assets on Tuesday to deter Iran from retaliating as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah escalate Wall Street Journal Report quoting US and Israeli officials revealed.

According to the report, the US Department of Defense has planned to increase the number of Air Force F-15E, F-16 and A-10 fighter jets stationed in the Middle East.

Furthermore, such an increase would reportedly be significant as F-15E and F-16 fighter jets were responsible for downing Iranian drones when Tehran launched a missile and drone attack against Israel in April.

It is noteworthy that the decision to increase military resources came immediately before the IDF’s ground invasion of Lebanon on Tuesday.

Additionally, the report added that the Marine Amphibious Ready Group, consisting of approximately 2,200 Marines and soldiers, will be ready to deploy additional forces if necessary.

An unclear answer

The Wall Street Journal He also mentioned that the extent of Tehran’s possible response remains unclear, as Iranian officials appear to be divided over the best course of action.

Analysts in the report said there could be a wide range of Iranian retaliation, including renewed Iranian proxy attacks against U.S. military bases in the Middle East.

The report also noted that “Tehran is unlikely to conduct a missile launch unless it believes it will achieve greater success than its attack in April,” said Norman Roule, a former CIA official.
