Austyns Stancil brought a lot of family heart and determination The voice during the second night of Season 26’s blind auditions on Monday. While it took over a minute for the coaches to get their buttons down, Stancil finally completed his blind audition with a 4-chair turn – much to the excitement of his mother Christine and brother CJ, both of whom were watching from the sidelines.

In fact, Stancil has his mother to thank for developing a lifelong passion for singing. “I started singing in church in Paola, Kansas,” he said. “My mother was the director and she needed someone to sing a few solos. I was 9 years old and screaming all over the house, so she said, ‘You’re going to sing.'”
