Replacing the injured Kenneth Walker III for the second straight year, Zach Charbonnet started the best game of his young NFL career and played a big role in Sunday’s 24-3 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Charbonnet rushed for a career-best 91 yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdowns, a 4-yard score in the first quarter and a 10-yarder in the fourth quarter to cap a game-winning 98-yard drive started ice cream. Charbonnet also added 16 yards on three receptions.

And Charbonnet showed how elusive he is en route to the best numbers of his career. Walker is typically viewed as Seattle’s more skilled back, while Charbonnet is known for his power. He has demonstrated the ability to make defenders miss in space or use a well-placed stiff arm or dropped shoulder to gain extra distance. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Charbonnet used his versatile skillset to force eight missed tackles on 21 touches on Sunday. These missed tackles helped Charbonnet post 16 yards rushing yards above expectations, surpassing the total of six missed tackles he had forced in his first two games along with 29 touchdowns.
