A 13-year-old British girl is on trial for stabbing two teachers and a student to death, claiming afterwards she would become a “celebrity” for doing so.

According to The Guardian, the incident occurred on the morning of April 24 after the unnamed girl arrived at school with a multi-tool that allegedly belonged to her father, who used it for fishing.

Teachers Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin and the student all suffered injuries in the attack at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman school in Wales. Hopkins’ injuries to her back, arms, neck and legs were so severe that she had to be flown to the hospital.

When police arrived at the scene, they said the teen showed little remorse while being held in the back of their patrol car. The girl was taken into custody and will now stand trial at Swansea Crown Court.

According to trial testimony, the girl told an officer afterward, “This is one way to be a celebrity” and “I’m pretty sure this will be on the news so there will be more eyes staring at me.”

During the trial, prosecutor William Hughes KC said the girl denied attempting to murder her victims, but admitted stabbing them and bringing a gun to school.

Hughes also said that Elias described the girl as having “sinister eyes” and that shortly before the attack, the teen screamed, “I’m going to kill you.” I’ll fucking kill you.”

Although there were no concrete signs of friction from the girl toward Elias, police found hateful drawings and notes in the defendant’s room in which the teacher was called “Ms. Frog Face Elias.” In one note she allegedly wrote: “Death of shame.”

As the trial continues, the jury must determine the defendant’s state of mind and intentions. They have already viewed CCTV footage of the attack and listened to several witness statements.
