A man was arrested after a shooting in northwest Bakersfield and is in the hospital

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – One person has been arrested following a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Saturday night in northwest Bakersfield.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said on September 28, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers assigned to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Metropolitan Patrol Division responded to the 13000 block of Rosedale Highway for a shooting victim seek.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.

KCSO said 45-year-old Shawn Brown of Bakersfield was found several blocks from the scene of the accident and was arrested by officers without incident.

According to KCSO, Brown was subsequently booked into Lerdo Prison on numerous felony and weapons violations.
