An ATV accident kills a Wisconsin man in Marinette County

AMBERG, Wis. – An Amberg, Wisconsin, man was killed in an ATV accident in Marinette County over the weekend.

At approximately 8:42 a.m. Sunday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Old 38 Road north of Dow Dam Road in Amberg.

The investigation revealed that 31-year-old Devin R. Cotter Nutt was traveling southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. His ATV went into the ditch and crashed into several trees.

Nutt wasn’t wearing a helmet. The Marinette County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene.

Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Amberg fire department provided assistance on site.
