37-year-old man arrested for stabbing on Monday morning

PEORIA Ill. – A 37-year-old man was arrested in connection with a stabbing early Monday morning in Peoria.

Police were dispatched to the area of ​​South Oregon Street and West Trewyn Avenue just after 4:15 a.m. – when they arrived, they found an adult female with an apparent stab wound to her left side.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers then identified 37-year-old Michael Childs, who matched the suspect’s description.

Childs initially resisted arrest, but was eventually arrested for aggravated domestic violence and resisting police.

He was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
