Celebrate Philadelphia’s block parties to encourage voter turnout in the 2024 election

A free two-part block party series is coming to Philadelphia to increase voter participation General election 2024 in November.

Welcome America announced Monday that the two Celebrate Philadelphia block parties will be held in two of the City satellite election offices. Organizers help People register to vote at these parties and at the same time celebrate their political commitment.

Organizers say the parties will include performances, giveaways, food, a curated dialogue with the A Seat at the Table Foundation and more. The Committee of Seventy will have a table with the bloc parties to provide voters with the necessary information.

“As we kick off the Celebrate Philadelphia block party series, we are sending a powerful message: Voting is not just a chore, it is a celebration,” said city commissioner Omar Sabir said. “Through music, dialogue and civic engagement, we inspire our communities to come together and make their voices count. I encourage everyone to get involved, take action and join us in strengthening our democracy.”

The block parties take place on consecutive Saturdays throughout October.

The first party will be held at the city’s satellite elections office at 4029 Market St on October 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The second party will be held at the office at 2301 N on October 19th from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Width St.
