Glen Cove man arrested in connection with fatal knife attack in West Hempstead

Erick Efren Corado Gonzalez, 27, was arrested Sunday in Linden, New Jersey, by Nassau County Police Department homicide detectives with the assistance of New Jersey law enforcement.

Police say 51-year-old Ana Ruth Espinoza of Glen Cove was stabbed multiple times in the back of La Candela Restaurant on Hempstead Turnpike early Sunday. She later died from her injuries.

A 50-year-old man was also stabbed during the incident but has since been treated and released.
