Sexual assault reported on UES, NYPD releases video of suspect

According to the New York City Police Department, an unknown man allegedly raped a woman on Saturday, September 28, after forcibly entering her Upper East Side apartment.

According to police, around 3:40 a.m., a 29-year-old woman was approached at E. 92nd Street and 1st Avenue “by an unknown person who forcibly entered her residence.” The perpetrator “then raped the victim before fleeing on foot to an unknown area.”

The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital and was in “stable condition,” according to police.

This comes after a summer that saw a number of other high-profile attacks in Upper Manhattan. Back in June. Police arrested Jermaine Longmire after he was accused of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman who was sunbathing in Central Park. Police accused him of attempted rape after he was arrested several days after his picture was posted to the public.

On Aug. 10, police charged Quincy Burks with attempted rape of a 19-year-old woman near Gracie Mansion, in the same county as the Sept. 28 incident. Both suspects were arrested after police released videos of the suspect and asked the public for help finding them.

The NYPD’s Manhattan Special Victims Squad is working to determine who the Sept. 28 perpetrator was. Surveillance footage shows the person leaving the victim’s home. NYPD “is requesting the public’s assistance in determining the identity and location of the individual depicted.”

If anyone knows more information about who the man in the footage is, the NYPD asks that they please call the Crime Stoppers hotline (1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or in Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). report )) or to Crime Stoppers online or on social media.
