Milwaukie police shoot and injure man outside Taco Bell

The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team is investigating a police shooting following a traffic investigation early Monday morning.

According to the Milwaukie Police Department, its officers conducted an investigation along Southeast Oak Street just before 1 a.m.

According to KPTV, the shooting occurred at a Taco Bell drive-thru. At least one officer fired his weapon, striking what police called a “male suspect.”

Video footage of the shooting shows a vehicle being blocked by police cars before an officer fires a shot at the driver. The person was taken to a local hospital and their condition is unknown at this time.

Milwaukie police said in a news release that no officers were injured in the shooting.

The shooting is the latest in a series of regional police shootings this month. These include a fatal shooting in Vancouver on Friday, a non-fatal shooting by Portland police on Thursday and a shooting outside a Milton-Freewater elementary school on Sept. 24 that left one person injured.
