1 dead, 1 injured after two teenagers were thrown from the back of a truck in New London Friday night

NEW LONDON, Iowa (KWQC) – Two teenagers were thrown from a truck bed in New London Friday night.

According to an Iowa State Patrol accident report, a Ford F350 was traveling east on Cleveland Street when it abruptly turned onto Adams Street.

The abrupt turn ejected two passengers who were not wearing seatbelts from the bed of the truck, officials said.

According to the report, 16-year-old Gavin Browning died at the scene.

The other 16-year-old was taken to an area hospital, the accident report states.

The New London Community School District said it is offering counseling for those who need additional support.
