Reports of “large” snakes in NKY lead to police investigation

ERLANGER, Ky. (WXIX) — An investigation is underway in an area of Erlanger after police say they have received questions about sightings of a possible large snake.

The area where the snake may have been spotted is Riggs Avenue and Division Street, according to the Erlanger Police Department.

On September 27, the department posted on Facebook that officers actually went to the area and saw “large tracks in a grassy portion of the property.”

The tracks could have come from a large snake, police said, citing a reptile expert.

“Wildlife cameras have been placed in the area, but no images of a snake have been captured at this time,” Erlanger police wrote on Facebook.

Police stressed that there were no confirmed “credible sightings” of the snake.

They are urging pet owners and residents to remain vigilant as their investigation continues.
