Ruiner: A new all-in-one sound destruction plugin

Ruiner follows hot on the heels of OSS, Song Athletics’ debut plugin released earlier this year.

Ruiner offers a versatile signal destruction toolkit that allows creative sound manipulation through eight different effects:

  1. Stutter: A beat repeater with a knob that adjusts both the probability and speed of repetition.
  2. Grainy: Custom grain manipulation of increasing complexity controlled via the dial.
  3. compress: A powerful compressor where the controller sets the threshold.
  4. Bit Crush: Stepped bit depth control from 16 bits to 8 bits.
  5. Harmonic distortion: Combines dry/wet mixing and drive, adjustable via the rotary knob.
  6. Overdrive: Adjusts the amount of modeled diode clipping using the dial.
  7. band: Mixes dry/wet with band attenuation options, all controlled via the dial.
  8. Static: Introduces a combination of static sounds, including analog circuit noise and vinyl surface noise.

The Mix control allows for a precise mix of the original and processed signals, making RUINER a powerful tool for creative sound destruction.

Ruiner is available as VST3/AU and runs on Windows 10/11 and MacOS 10.11 (or later). It also supports Intel Macs. The full download size is 194 MB uncompressed and was developed by John Howes, aka Cong Burn.

Ruiner is available now, priced at £20. For more information, visit the Song Athletics website.
