Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt welcomes her first child

Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt has reportedly given birth to her first child.

According to MailOnline, the 44-year-old actress welcomed her bundle of joy earlier this month.

In new pictures obtained by the publication, Joanne was seen pushing a stroller in Berkshire last week with a big grin on her face.

For the fall outing, the actress looked effortlessly stylish in a leather biker jacket, a crisp white tee, wide leg pants, and a baker boy hat.

Joanne carried a black leather shoulder bag and wore her blonde tresses loose in a sleek style. As for makeup, the TV star highlighted her features with smoky eyeshadow and telescopic mascara.

Although Joanne is believed to be in a relationship, she has yet to reveal the identity of her baby’s father.

Back in August 2023, she was linked to a mysterious man named Mark, but she has remained tight-lipped about the alleged romance so far.

Before their relationship, Joanne was married to IT consultant James Cannon, whom she wed in a romantic ceremony in Oxford. The couple were married from 2012 to 2020 and lived together in Buckinghamshire before confirming their split.

The star, who will appear in the third Downton Abbey film, made her pregnancy public back in June at the Into Film Awards.

At the glitzy event, she showed off her baby bump for the first time in an elegant red one-shoulder dress. She looked radiant as she posed for snaps, one hand cupping her growing bump.

The Return of Downton Abbey

Joanne is expected to star in the third Downton film, which is currently in production. It will and will return to screens in September next year, just days before its 15th birthday.

The actress will reunite with many of the original cast members, including Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Allen Leech and Penelope Wilton.

The Countess of Carnarvon mentioned the production as a nod to the new film “A leap of imagination and faith and all of it irresistible” during an interview with Tatler.

Production on the third film is underway

Filming is set to take place in the grounds of Highclere Castle – home of the Crawley family. The Countess of Carnarvon, who owns the 17th century mansion, revealed that filming would take place both inside the castle and on the grounds.

In conversation with TatlerShe shared: “In addition to filming indoors, we will hopefully spend a few days – weather permitting – outside on the lawns, paths and around the park.”
