Kismet, the largest yacht ever to compete in the Monaco Yacht Show in its 30-year history, is owned by an American sports billionaire who once washed dishes for .20 an hour.

A testament to the ever-evolving nature of life and the exciting twists of fate, the Kismet Yacht is a remarkable symbol of luxury and ambition. Recently named the largest yacht ever exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show in its illustrious 30-year history, this prestigious event serves as a megayacht mecca where the elite gather to witness the most prestigious shows of opulence. The Kismet superyacht has become her crowning achievement, dethroning Lürssen’s 377-foot Ahpo, which previously held that title, amid a sea of extravagant and ostentatious vessels.

Billionaire Shahid Khan’s latest toy, the 400-foot yacht, became the largest yacht on display at the show in Port Hercule on the French Riviera. This massive $360 million ship offered a glimpse into the 74-year-old Khan’s grand, $13.3 billion life.

A poster child for the rags-to-riches journey, he transitioned from his job at auto parts supplier Flex-N-Gate to taking over this monumental superyacht in May this year, and the motoryacht hasn’t stopped making waves since. Its global debut at the Monaco Yacht Show showcased the wonders that this Nuvolari Lenard-designed sports boat holds.

Shahid Khan also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars

It must have felt surreal for Shahid Khan, who came to the United States at just 16 years old with just $500 in hand, which was his family’s entire life savings. Today he leads a lavish lifestyle, spending between $35 million and $40 million annually on the maintenance of his magnificent floating palace, the Kismet.

The opulence radiates from every nook and cranny, elegantly designed by Reymond Langton Interiors. While the six-deck yacht looks imposing compared to its competitors, the interiors are even more impressive than its stature. Outside, the figurehead of a silver Art Deco Jaguar under the bow welcomes the world to witness the rise of the Pakistani immigrant who bought the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012. Inside, guests are greeted by multi-story video walls that create a stunning first impression. This extraordinary visual experience is only surpassed by the Nemo Cinema on the lower deck, which features a huge 150-inch television and underwater seating.

The Lürssen mammoth is made even more memorable by features such as a ceiling with a Renaissance-style fresco by De Gournay, a large bar with gold glass and black marble surfaces, and a futuristic self-playing piano designed by Boganyi. The spa on board Kismet is one of the most beautifully designed spaces, creating a tranquil aura with fire pits, heated stone lounges and facilities such as a hammam, massage room, steam shower and salon.

The 400-foot-long Kismet even features a cryogenic chamber, which may explain why the 74-year-old owner looks fit and trim. Other luxurious amenities on the motor yacht include multiple swimming pools, a gym and various dining areas. You’ll find a range of water toys, including jet skis, Seabobs and a submarine, as well as a basketball and pickleball court for the wealthy sports billionaire.
