The Port of Long Beach reports road reopening after battery fire

The Port of Long Beach has announced that Ocean Boulevard and the Vincent Thomas Bridge are now open to traffic following the removal of the truck and cargo involved in the incident at Ocean and Navy Way.

The battery fire on Ocean Boulevard at Navy Way in the Port of Los Angeles on September 27 initially impacted operations at nearby terminals at the Port of Long Beach.

On September 28, the port announced that the site had been decontaminated.

The Los Angeles Fire Department moved and inspected the cargo to another location in the Port of Los Angeles.

The incident no longer impacted terminals at the Port of Long Beach.

The Port of Long Beach noted that it will continue to coordinate with the Los Angeles Fire Department and assist them in resolving the incident.

Recently, the Port of Long Beach and Shenzhen Port Group, along with several partners, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on decarbonizing maritime trade.
