Nagpur youth among nine dead in tragic bus accident in Maihar

Nagpur, India: Nine people, including a youth from Nagpur, died and over 24 others were injured when a speeding bus collided with a stationary truck in Maihar area of ​​Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred late Saturday evening. The deceased include Ganesh Ajaykumar Sahu (25) from Nagpur, Lallu Ramavatar Yadav (60) from Pratapgarh and several others. Two injured passengers from Nagpur are currently being treated at hospitals in Maihar, Amarpatan and Satna.

The Abha Travels bus (UP-72/AT-4952) was traveling from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to Nagpur with 45 passengers when it collided with a parked truck (CG04/NB-6786). The force of the collision resulted in nine deaths and several injuries.

After receiving the distress call, Maihar police reached the spot and used JCB machinery and gas cutters to rescue the passengers trapped in the bus. The injured were quickly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The police have registered a case against the bus driver and further investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
