Sean “Diddy” Combs is no longer under suicide watch – Report – Music News

Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been released from suicide watch while he awaits trial in a federal prison.

Earlier this month, the hip-hop mogul was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, extortion and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. Combs pleaded not guilty to the charge.

In the days following his arrest, a representative confirmed that the 54-year-old had been placed on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City, although the designation was “procedural” and a preventive measure.

However, a source told People on Sunday that Combs is no longer under constant surveillance.

“He is focused and very strong. “He is concentrating on his defense and preparing for his trial,” a lawyer told the media.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Institute of Corrections, suicide surveillance is “the supervision measures provided for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation.”

Additionally, an insider told People that Combs received visits from his family while he was incarcerated at the detention center.

However, it is not clear whether his children or other family members were given permission for the meeting.

He is next scheduled to appear in court in early October.

In March, Combs came under intense scrutiny, with federal agents conducting searches at his properties in Miami and Los Angeles.

Around the same time, the Bad Boy Records founder was hit with multiple lawsuits and allegations of sexual misconduct, with most of the complaints still pending.

And last November, Cassie Ventura also filed a lawsuit against her ex-partner, accusing him of physical and sexual abuse during their relationship.

The couple quickly settled out of court and the lawsuit was dismissed.

However, months later, surveillance video emerged showing him punching her in a hotel hallway in 2016, prompting the Bad Boy Records founder to apologize for his “inexcusable behavior.”
