1 dead in officer-involved shooting in Anchorage

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A man is dead after Anchorage police said an officer-involved shooting occurred in the Mountain View neighborhood on Sunday.

There was a large police presence where the shooting was reported Sunday evening in the 500 block of North Park Street. The crime scene is near North Park and Thompson Avenue. A man named as a suspect in a news release was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No officers were injured.
