Serious accident closes roads in Annapolis, police advise people to avoid the area

ANNAPOLIS, MD. – A serious accident at Solomons Island Road and West Street has led to road closures in Annapolis, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Maryland State Police are currently investigating the incident.

The area will remain closed for the duration of the investigation, police said in a statement posted on social media. Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

BALTIMORE – Police say a 40-year-old man is recovering from a gunshot wound after entering a local hospital Sunday evening. Officers arrived at the hospital at approximately 6:43 p.m. to investigate the incident.

The victim’s condition was not immediately released and authorities are working to determine where the shooting occurred. Investigators are trying to locate a crime scene related to the incident.

Northern District Shooting investigators have taken over the investigation, police said.

NEW YORK — A 49-year-old man was seriously injured in a knife attack in the Bronx on Sunday, police said. The attack happened near University Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road around 1:15 p.m.

According to authorities, the victim was walking in the area when an unknown man approached him and stabbed him in the back and foot with a metal object. The suspect fled the crime scene on foot in an unknown direction.

EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is reported to be in serious but stable condition.

The suspect remains at large and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
