Cirque Us Stories Ends National Tour at NECCA | Entertainment

BRATTLEBORO – National touring company Cirque Us is pleased to perform its newest show, “Cirque Us Stories,” at the New England Center for Circus Arts on October 6 at 3 p.m.

Tickets for this family-friendly show about the adventures found within the pages of books are available at thecirqueus.com.

Company founder Doug Stewart, a graduate of NECCA’s professional training program, shares: “’Cirque Us Stories’ is a new, carefully curated show that flips through the pages of our troupe’s favorite stories to bring you a touching, exciting tale of community and society “Identity.” Blending together a collection of folk tales, classic literature, children’s stories, modern fiction and more, this show jumps from the. with twists, turns, rewrites and retellings of stories illustrated by mischievous and acrobatic characters Page.

The show features aerialists, jugglers, acrobats, contortionists, clowns and more, all ready to fly off the shelf – the cast even takes time before the show to discuss books and hand out favorites to the audience.

“It’s nice to have this company back at NECCA,” says production manager Serenity Smith Forchion. “In 2018, Cirque Us was part of a residency at NECCA supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. We are excited to have them return as a reputable American circus company with their signature, high-quality, family-friendly production.”

The 2024 “Cirque Us Stories” troupe includes several NECCA alumni. Contortionist and aerialist Maeve Beck grew up at NECCA, first in the Youth Performance Troupe and then in the Professional Training Program. During her time at NECCA, she met her aerial hoop partner Maia Castro-Santos. Current NECCA ProTrack student Esther Van De Lagemaat can also be seen in “Stories” with her acrobatic trick roping act.
