Special Forces commander and TTU graduate killed in plane crash in North Carolina

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Trinity Christian and Texas Tech graduate was killed Saturday when a single-engine plane crashed at Wright Brothers National Memorial First Flight Airport in North Carolina.

Jason Campbell, 45, was recently promoted to lieutenant colonel and special forces commander at Fort Liberty, formerly Fort Bragg.

He graduated from Trinity Christian in 1999 and then completed his bachelor’s degree at Texas Tech.

The plane was attempting to land at the first flight airport when it crashed into a nearby wooded area and caught fire.

According to a New York Times report, four adults and one child were killed.
