Manu Samoa’s head coach is accused of sexual harassment and sexual harassment

Rugby in Samoa has suffered another devastating setback as Samoa Police confirmed that Manu Samoa head coach Mase Mahonri Schwalger will be charged with sexual harassment after two complainants made charges against him.

Samoa Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo has confirmed that charges of sexual relations, indecent assault and sexual assault will be filed against the former Manu Samoa captain, who was appointed head coach of the national rugby team on March 31, 2024.

“There are two complainants,” said Auapaau, “they are his family members.”

Mase was taken to police headquarters last Thursday where he was arrested and charged before being released on bail. He is expected to report to police weekly until his first court appearance, which the commissioner said is scheduled for Monday, November 4, 2024.
