Two were arrested in connection with shootings at a candy store

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested two sharpshooters linked to jailed gangsters Deepak Boxer and Ankesh Lakra for firing multiple shots outside a sweet shop in Nangloi, an official said on Sunday.

On Saturday, shots were fired at a car showroom, a hotel and a sweet shop in Delhi. Police said all the incidents were related to extortion by senior gangsters. Teams comprising officers from the special branch, crime branch and local police have been formed to nab those responsible, the official said.

“Those arrested are Hari Om, 27, a resident of Rohini and Jatin, 21, a resident of Mundka. “The two fired shots at the counter and an employee of the sweet shop and threw extortion notes which had color photographs of gangsters Gogi and Kuldeep Fajja on one side and the names Deepak Boxer and Ankesh Lakra on the other,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) said. said Pratiksha Godara.

Police have recovered one semi-automatic pistol, one country-made pistol and nine live bullets.
