Citizens Invited to Child Support Review – Lowndes Signal

The Alabama Advisory Committee on Child Support Guidelines and Enforcement is scheduled for Friday, October 25, beginning at 10 a.m. in the mezzanine of the Heflin-Torbert Judicial Building, 300 Dexter Avenue in Montgomery.

The Supreme Court of Alabama appoints the members of the committee. The mission of the Committee is to review and make recommendations to the Supreme Court on the Child Support Guidelines and the Schedule of Basic Child Support Obligations to be used by the courts in this State in determining the amount of child support to be paid. At this meeting, the Committee will continue to review and discuss current policy and schedule.

Persons wishing to provide the Committee with written comments and suggestions regarding the policies and schedule may do so by sending a written request, postmarked no later than Thursday, October 17, to the Office of the Supreme Court of Alabama at e.g. Attn: Child Support Advisory Committee, Send Guidelines, 300 Dexter Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36104-3741. Telephone comments and suggestions will not be accepted.

Persons wishing to attend the meeting in person at the Heflin-Torbert Justice Building in Montgomery on Friday, October 25th should email [email protected] no later than 8 a.m. Monday, October 21st . Individuals who wish to attend and require special accommodations should indicate this in the email. The committee will allow public comments toward the end of the meeting.
