Jade Cargill: I want to show my daughter that she can do anything she puts her mind to

Jade Cargill signed with WWE in September 2023, but didn’t make her in-ring debut until the Women’s Royal Rumble in January.

Since her in-ring debut, Cargill has won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles twice.

“Trick Williams: CM Punk will soon be a legendary Hall of Famer”

Speaking at Sports Business Journal’s Game Changer event, Cargill discussed her first year in WWE.

“This year has gone by so quickly” she said. “The WWE fan base has surprised me in many ways. I didn’t think I would be accepted the way I was accepted. They came in with open arms. I did the Royal Rumble. The crowd was electric. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Cargill sadly lost her mother earlier this year, which made it a difficult year for her off-screen.

“My mother passed away this year. … It was a tough moment for me, but I got through it and talked to my mom.” she said. “I talked to my mother every morning about my family and my daughter and what to do if she got sick. When she has a cold you talk to your mom and she hasn’t been there for me this year. So I would say what I’m most proud of is that I was able to push through that, just fight through parts. I’m proud that I did it and that I continue to push and be a role model for my daughter to go out and achieve great things.

“As a mother of a girl, all I have done is tell myself to be a role model for her and strive to be a role model for her. Telling her not to apologize, showing her that in a male-dominated environment like the WWE, women can go out there no matter what obstacles are in front of you, no matter what race you are, no matter what gender you are. … I want her to know that she can do anything she puts her mind to.”

Cargill and Belair will host WWE Bad Blood.
