Mother allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend in Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA. – An investigation is underway after a Simi Valley mother was allegedly stabbed by her boyfriend.

According to the Simi Valley Police Department, it happened just after 6 p.m. Friday at a home in the 800 block of California Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene after a girl called 911 to report that her mother, 34-year-old Jessica Tinoco, had been stabbed by her live-in boyfriend, 34-year-old Raymond Rivas.

Rivas was arrested by police at home. Tinoco suffered multiple stab wounds to his face, chest and stomach. She was taken to hospital where she died from her injuries.

Rivas was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail on a murder charge. According to authorities, he was also taken into custody for a probation violation because he was under community supervision following his release at the time of the crime.
